NHAI plans to borrow over Rs 1 lakh cr in next 2 fiscal years

Setting stiff target for itself of awarding 5,000 km highway projects annually over the next two financial years, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has drawn up a plan to borrow more than R1 lakh crore from the domestic markets during the period. The planned hike in borrowings is in line with the government’s plan to accelerate road construction and achieve the target of building 30 km a day.

TVS Srichakra Limited (TSL) proposes to sell its entire shareholding in its subsidiary, TVS Europe Distribution Limited (EDL), in favour of TVS Automobile Solutions Limited, the company has informed exchanges.

The firm holds 33,25,000 shares held in TVS Europe Distribution and also proposes to purchase / acquire 15,89,699 compulsory convertible preference shares (CCPS) in TVS Automobile Solutions Limited (TVS ASL) amounting to Rs 40 crore.

Wipro bags infra management contract from ASSA ABLOY

Software major Wipro today said that it has won an information technology (IT) infrastructure transformation contract from the Sweden headquartered ASSA ABLOY Group, that offers door opening solutions.

In the five-year agreement, Wipro will consolidate ASSA ABLOY's existing data centers in the EMEA region and implement a cloud-based service model which includes IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and PaaS (Platform as a Service), the company said.

While Sebi has been examining Twitter and Facebook for quite some time for investigation purposes, this is the first time the regulator has used Facebook account as evidence for proving charges against an individual.

Tata Motors, India's biggest commercial vehicles manufacturer, has declared a lockout at its bus manufacturing plant in Karnataka's Dharwad, following a continued strike by workers.

Dissatisfied with the revision in wages and subsequent suspension of a dozen staff members, a section of workers at the plant are alleged to have incited others to disrupt work. The company decided to shut down operations on Saturday at the plant, which makes buses under the Tata Marcopolo brand.

New Delhi: The government is open to the proposal of creating separate dispute resolution mechanisms for broadcasting and telecom sectors, Union minister Arun Jaitley said on Saturday.

Amid sector regulator TDSAT flooded with the cases, its chairperson Justice Aftab Alam said the number of broadcasting cases has far exceeded those related to telecom sector. He was speaking at a seminar on Telecom and Broadcasting theme – ART (Adjudication, Regulation, Telecommunication) of Convergence, TDSAT.
