Today, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), the utility and electric vehicle major, will launch the Alturas G4 SUV in India—which is a vehicle based on SsangYong Rexton (SsangYong is a South Korean automobile manufacturer and a subsidiary of M&M). With the Alturas G4, the company will foray into the Indian premium SUV segment, currently dominated by Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

The Supreme Court has allowed markets regulator Sebi to go ahead with certain proposed amendments to self regulatory organisation (SRO) regulations, including appointment as SRO, that are necessary to regulate mutual fund products.

A Bench led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi accepted Sebi’s plea that the selection process for appointment as SRO for distribution of Mutual Fund (MF) products is required in the public interest.

Rupee on Thursday opened at a fresh 11-week high, rising by 35 paise to 71.11 per US dollar in early trade, falling crude oil prices. At the interbank forex market, the domestic currency opened higher at 71.12 and surged further to quote at 71.11, showing a rise of 35 paise over its previous close of 71.46 against the dollar on Tuesday. The rupee strengthened for the seventh day in a row.
