Maruti Suzuki on Tuesday rolled out the new Alto variant with a BS-VI compliant engine and enhanced safety and design features, priced in the range of Rs 2.94 lakh to Rs 3.72 lakh. The vehicle is costlier by around Rs 16,000-21,000 compared to the outgoing model.

Alto retained its crown as the best-selling passenger vehicle for the 15th consecutive year in FY19. Maruti Suzuki sold 259,401 units of Alto in 2019 fiscal year. This will be the second model by Maruti to be launched with a BS-VI engine. The company on Monday launched the updated version of its premium hatchback Baleno with BS-VI petrol engine.

Paytm Payments Bank’s market share in mobile-banking volumes slipped to 18% in February 2019 from 26% in February 2018 with Airtel Payments Bank entering the fray and incumbent HDFC Bank gaining some ground.

Data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) show that Paytm recorded 133 million of a total 739 million mobile-banking transactions made during February 2019.

The ministry of corporate affairs (MCA) on Tuesday said it has recovered depositors’ money worth Rs 1,514 crore from the Peerless General Finance and Investment Company, which was pending with the entity for the last 15 years.

The GST profiteering investigation arm has found leading FMCG firm P&G India guilty of not passing on GST rate cut benefits to the tune of about Rs 250 crore by commensurate reduction in prices. Based on a complaint filed before the standing committee, the Directorate General of Anti profiteering (DGAP) investigated the books of accounts of P&G India pre and post November 15, 2017, and concluded that the consumer goods manufacturer has not lowered prices of certain of its products despite cut in GST rate to 18 per cent from 28 per cent.
