India Covid-19 count crosses 6.5 million mark, recovery rate at 84.13%

With a spike of 75,829 new cases and 940 deaths reported in India, the country's COVID-19 count crossed 65 lakh on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

As per the MoHFW, the COVID-19 count is at 65,49,374, including 9,37,625 active cases in the country.

The central government on Sunday said that over Rs 1,000 crore has been paid to 41,084 farmers for procurement of paddy on Minimum Support Price (MSP).

The paddy procurement for 2020-21 has commenced across the procuring states, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution said in a release.

In a letter, Arupananda Jena, State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) convenor informed that State Bank Of India has reported highest 968 COVID-19 positive cases with one death when it comes to public sector bank. Axis Bank has reported highest 390 COVID positive cases, with no deaths in private banks.
