With less than two weeks to go for the Assembly Elections 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's marathon rallies continue. PM Modi will address election rallies in poll-bound West Bengal and Assam today.
The Prime Minister will address election rallies in Kharagpur in West Bengal and Chabua in Assam. In a tweet, the Prime Minister said that he will elaborate on BJP's development agenda in his speeches.
"Will be in Assam and West Bengal tomorrow and the day after. Tomorrow, March 20, I would be speaking at rallies in Kharagpur (WB) and Chabua (Assam). Will elaborate on BJP's development agenda during my speeches. It is clear both states want to elect NDA in the upcoming polls," he tweeted.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address four rallies in Bengal over the next ten days, three of which will be held before the first phase of the polls.
PM Modi will be holding two meetings in Midnapore. He will address a rally at Kharagpur, West Midnapore, on March 20 and one at Kanthi, East Midnapore, on March 28. He will be in Bankura on March 21.
BJP has already lined up rallies by star campaigners, including Union minister Amit Shah, in the Jangalmahal area.
In Kharagpur, Amit Shah had hinted at a meeting by the PM in support of BJP candidate Hiran Chatterjee.
Forty-eight of the 191 candidates contesting the first phase of assembly elections in West Bengal on March 27 or a little over 25% have declared criminal cases against themselves, according to a report by poll rights group Association for Democratic Reforms.
On the education details of candidates, ADR said 96 (50%) candidates have declared their educational qualifications to be between class 5 and 12 while 92 (48%) candidates have declared to be graduates or above. Three candidates are diploma holders.
