Buy Maruti Suzuki with a target of Rs 7,070: HDFC Securities

HDFC Securities has maintained its BUY rating on Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), stating that it believes in the growth story of India’s largest car manufacturer. “With 20% EPS CAGR over FY17-19E and structural improvement in RoE (at close to 25% by FY19E v/s 10 year average of about 17%), we maintain a BUY on MSIL with a target price of Rs 7,070, based on 20 times multiple of FY19E EPS,” HDFC Securities said in a research report.

Country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Thursday reported 15.8 per cent rise in net profit to Rs. 1,709 crore for the fourth quarter of last fiscal ended March 31.

The company had posted net profit of Rs. 1,476.2 crore in the January-March period of previous fiscal, 2015-16, MSI said in a statement.

S-Cross, the most expensive vehicle from Maruti Suzuki, has managed to cross a milestone of 50,000 units in sales. Launched in August 2015, the vehicle had seen an initial phase of weakness due to its pricing and competition from Hyundai’s Creta, launched days before S-Cross.

The country’s largest car maker has sold over 46,000 units of S-Cross in domestic market since launch, data with Siam showed. More than 4,000 vehicles have been exported to different destinations. The vehicle, positioned as a crossover, had seen challenges post the launch.

Maruti Suzuki has silently launched the 2017 DZire Tour at a starting price of Rs 5.24 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The company will sell the new DZire Tour only for the fleet market. Earlier, the Maruti Suzuki DZire Tour was sold in a diesel version, however, the new car will now also be offered with a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine that produces 84 hp of power and 114 Nm of torque.

The diesel version gets the existing 1.3 litre DDiS unit that generates 74 hp of power and 190 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The car manufacturer has not offered the DZire Tour with an automatic or an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearbox.

New Delhi, Apr 19 () Maruti Suzuki tightened its grip on the Indian passenger vehicles market with with seven of its models featuring in the ten best selling list in 2016-17, with its small car Alto retaining the top seller tag for the 13th consecutive year.

According to data released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) had only six models in the top ten list in 2015-16.

The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) today posted 8.1 per cent rise in total sales in March at 1,39,763 units as against 1,29,345 vehicles in the same month last year. The company’s domestic sales increased 7.7 per cent during the month to 1,27,999 units as against 1,18,895 units in March 2016. For 2016-17 fiscal, the company posted a 9.8 per cent jump in total sales at 15,68,603 units, against 14,29,248 vehicles in 2015-16. It turned out to be the company’s best ever year in term of sales.

The court of additional district and sessions judge R P Goyal reserved its order after argument of the prosecution and defence over the quantum of sentence today.
