Maruti Suzuki sales up 23.4% in April
NEW DELHI: The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki on Monday reported 23.4% increase in domestic sales at 144492 units for April.
The company had sold 117045 units in the corresponding period of the last financial year.
While sales of small cars - Alto and WagonR - went up by 21.9% to 38897 units, those of compact cars (Swift, Celerio, Ignis, DZire, DZire Tour, Baleno) rose by 39.1% to 63584 units. Ciaz sales grew by 23.2% to 7024 units.
The company sold 20638 units of utility vehicles Ertiga, Brezza, Gypsy and S-Cross, which is an increase of 28.6% over 16044 units sold in the year-ago period.
