Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra on Monday reported a 14% rise in total sales to 41,863 units in April.

The company had sold 36,727 units in the same month last year.

Homegrown utility vehicles major Mahindra & Mahindra today launched a limited edition of its Scorpio starting at Rs 13.07 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai without Octroi).

The limited edition Scorpio Adventure is based on the top-end model 'S10' of the new generation Scorpio and only 1,000 vehicles will be produced, the company said in a statement.

Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services has moved higher to its 52-week high of Rs 295, up 7% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in early morning trade after the company's gross non-performing assets (NPA) as percentage to total assets declined to 8% in March 2016 quarter against 10.1% in December 2015 quarter. Net NPA declined to 3.2% from 4.6% during the quarter.

Through increased penetration and close follow up efforts the company has been able to increase overall collections and bring down NPA levels resulting in growth of profits, M&M Financial Services said in a statement.

The biggest blow for the company was the Supreme Court ban on diesel vehicles in Delhi a few months ago. With most of its portfolio catering to the diesel segment, the firm has steered a course to include petrol variants in all new launches.

Mahindra & Mahindra expects tractor sales to grow in double digits this year, if monsoon forecasts are proved right. The company, which met analysts earlier this week, said that tractor sales could grow 10 per cent in FY17, if the rainfall is normal this season. The tractor segment, which has declined for two consecutive years, could see some recovery due to pent-up demand in the system. Tractor sales have declined 13 per cent in FY15 and 10 per cent in FY16. Emkay Global, in a note, says: "After a successful launch of the Arjun brand tractors in the 50+hp range, the management is hopeful the recent launch of the 30-50 hp Yuvo range should further help market share."

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) on Thursday announced its foray into the global combine harvester business by entering into a strategic partnership with Sampo Rosenlew, a combine harvester company based in Pori, Finland.

The Anand Mahindra led group acquired 35% equity in Sampo Rosenlew for 18 million euros. The deal is expected to close by April 2016.
