Apollo Hospitals is planning to invest around Rs 1,000 crore over the next two years. The healthcare major said this investment will help the company to add around 1,500 beds and will take overall bed capacity to over 10,500.

The company also said it is waiting for approval to raise Rs 750 crore through rights issue.

BENGALURU: World Bank arm International Finance Corporation ( IFC ) is looking to invest $68 million or Rs 460 crore in Apollo Health & Lifestyle Limited, which runs the hospital chains small format centers. The proposed investment is part of the overall raise by the unit of $135 million or Rs 900 crore.

"IFC is considering an equity investment of approximately $68 million, including approximately $34 million for its own account and approximately $34 million for IFC's Asset Management Company," the investment firm said in a disclosure on its website.

Apollo Hospitals has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with William Osler Health System (Osler) to collaborate on research and treatement services related to a range of diseases including Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Cancer.

The organizations will initiate a pilot project to enhance the continuity of care for patients with complex needs traveling between India and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in Canada for extended periods of time.

Healthcare major Apollo Hospitals Enterprise today reported 14.96% rise in standalone net profit to Rs 109.23 crore for the December quarter.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 95.01 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise said in a BSE filing.

Apollo Energy Company Ltd, an Apollo Hospitals Group Company, has divested its 23.3 percent stake in Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company Ltd to its joint venture partner, Munich Re of Germany, for Rs 163.5 crore. The proposed transaction values Apollo Munich at Rs 703 crore.

Completion of the proposed transaction is subject to applicable regulatory approvals and execution of customary agreements, which is expected to be completed at the end of the first quarter of 2016.

Apollo Hospitals Group will raise up to Rs 1,000 crore through a rights issue and private equity investment to expand its hospital network and specialty clinics across the country. The group plans to complete fund-raising in the next few months.

The group runs 55 hospitals under a listed entity and has a network of clinics, which are managed through a wholly-owned subsidiary. “We plan to raise up to Rs 500 crore through a rights issue for expansion of hospitals and another about Rs 500 crore from private equity investors for the clinics,” said Sangita Reddy, joint managing director of Apollo Hospitals Group.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd has posted a growth of 9.8 per cent in net profit at Rs 94.95 crore during the quarter ended June 30, 2015, as compared to Rs 89.52 crore in the same period of previous fiscal year.

The total income stood at Rs 1,264.96 crore during the quarter, as against Rs 1,053.72 crore during the same period of previous fiscal year, an increase of 20 per cent.

Apollo Hospitals to increase capacity by 25%

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (AHEL), one of the leading hospital chains in the country, is planning to increase its capacity by around 25%. Currently, the hospital chain has 9,215 beds.

In a letter to the shareholders, AHEL's Executive Chairman Prathap C Reddy said Apollo will add another 800 beds across three new hospitals in the coming year.
