Altoona Regional Health System was formed on November 1, 2004, as a result of Altoona and Bon Secours-Holy Family hospitals, along with many health system-affiliated companies, joining together.Altoona Regional is a charitable, not-for-profit health care system governed by a volunteer community board of directors. Acute care services are provided at two hospital campuses, the Altoona Hospital Campus and the Bon Secours Hospital Campus. The hospitals are licensed for a combined 497 beds. Altoona Regional offers more than 200 years of health care experience, over 300 talented and highly recognized physicians, nearly 4,000 specialized and experienced caregivers, and 600 supportive volunteers. The health system serves more than 20 counties throughout Central Pennsylvania.
