African Aura's strategy is to be a 'first mover' within highly prospective and under explored geological provinces, in pursuit of the next generation of gold and iron ore mines in emerging sub-Saharan Africa. It is the significant experience of working in Africa and the ability to identify and assess the non-geological risks inherent with investing in emerging countries that distinguishes the Company as a pioneer. Once opportunities have been identified the Company employs satellite borne and geological remote sensing datasets in order to select the highest priority areas to explore. This strategy allows our teams to have the highest chance of discovering those deposits which crop-out at surface. Historically these deposits are discovered fastest, for the lowest exploration cost and are the first to become mines. In addition to our flagship New Liberty Gold and Putu Iron Ore projects, African Aura has assembled a significant portfolio of projects in Liberia and Cameroon with over 20 deposits discovered by our exploration teams to date. These discoveries create a pipeline of opportunities for the Company; being at varying stages of exploration from reconnaissance sampling through to resource definition drilling.

The ABG Group can trace its origins in Tanzania back to March 1999, when Barrick acquired the Bulyanhulu property as part of its acquisition of Sutton Resources Ltd. Shortly thereafter, in July 2000, Barrick acquired the Tulawaka and Buzwagi properties as part of its acquisition of Pangea Goldfields Inc. ("PGI"). In 2006, the North Mara mine was added to the ABG Group as part of Barrick's acquisition of Placer Dome Inc. Over the past decade, The Tanzanian mines have made significant investments both to drive operating efficiency and to increase production, resulting in 2009 gold production of approximately 716,000 attributable ounces (an approximate 31.5 per cent. increase from 2008). The effects of this commitment in relation to the operating mines of the ABG Group can be seen at each of its existing mining operations.

African Minerals Limited (“the Company”, “African Minerals”, or “AML”), the mineral exploration and development company with significant iron ore and base metal interests in Sierra Leone, West Africa. The Company holds an extensive portfolio of mineral rights in Sierra Leone, a country in which it has been actively investing since 2003. Sierra Leone is a mineral rich country which has been largely unexplored and has recovered quickly from a period of instability. Elections held in Sierra Leone during 2007 resulted in a smooth handover of power demonstrating a successful African democracy. African Minerals completed the country’s first aeromagnetic survey during 2004 and subsequent exploration programmes and multi-element sampling analysis have resulted in the Company assembling a large mineral exploration portfolio in Sierra Leone. The Company is particularly excited by the progress at its flagship project, the Tonkolili iron ore project, where a JORC compliant magnetite resource of 10.5 Billion tonnes has been prepared by SRK Consulting (UK) Limited. This is the world’s largest reported JORC compliant magnetite iron ore mineral resource and African Minerals is in a very strong position to realise the full potential of the Project and compete alongside leading iron ore producers in supplying international steel markets. Additional exploration activities at Tonkolili have also confirmed the potential for 800 Million tonnes of hematite mineralisation. The Company signed a lease agreement with the Government of Sierra Leone in November 2008 over key rail and port infrastructure. Dependent upon the results of engineering studies, the Company will refurbish and construct rail and port facilities to accommodate its iron ore production and shipping capacity requirements and provide third party access at commercial rates.

African Rainbow Minerals develops and operates mines in South Africa in the ferrous metals, platinum group metals, coal, and gold sectors. The mining company has a 50% holding in Assmang Limited, which mines ferrous metals including iron ore, manganese, and chrome ore. Formerly Anglovaal Mining, African Rainbow operates the Modikwa and Two Rivers platinum mines, among others. The company's Nkomati mine produces nickel and copper. In 2004 the company sold its Avgold Limited subsidiary to Harmony Gold Mining and now holds a 16% stake in Harmony. Two years later Harmony acquired the company's stake in Village Main Reef GoldMining.

Though the story of Alamos Gold is not a long one in terms of time, it is one that is rich in terms of accomplishments. Alamos Gold was formed on February 21, 2003, as a result of the amalgamation of Alamos Minerals and National Gold. Prior to the merger, both Alamos Minerals and National Gold were involved primarily in mineral exploration activities in North America. Alamos Gold owns 100% of the 30,325-hectare Salamandra concessions, which are located within the Mulatos District in the State of Sonora of northwestern Mexico. These concessions contain the Mulatos Mine and a growing portfolio of more than a dozen exploration targets. Since declaring commercial production in 2006, Alamos Gold has continually focused on making operating improvements, resulting in record production of 178,500 ounces of gold in 2010.
