Finarte-Semenzato Casa d'Aste S.p.A.

Finarte was founded in 1959 by the Milanese banker Gian Marco Manusardi. It started operating in the financial sector, with the main purpose of assisting collectors and art operators in the art trading while, at the same time, filling a gap in the banking system. In the course of the years, the Company developed a special competence in bank operations related to the art market, and, first in the world, started to provide loans in a field which still had no credit among bank institutions. Advances on sales, loans against works of art, financing of art operators’ activities, hire –purchases, all these operations were started by Finarte some 35 years ago. The Company’s first seat was located in Milan, via Broletto 37.
