The H.W. Wilson Company publishes reference books and databases, such as the Readers Guide to Periodical Literature, found mostly at libraries. Its print and electronic products include 25 full-text periodicals databases, 25 index databases, 5 collection development catalogs, and an art image database. The H.W. Wilson Company was founded in 1898 by Halsey William Wilson, and can trace its roots to 1889 when Wilson and his roommate Henry S. Morris, a fellow University of Minnesota student, invested $400 to create Morris & Wilson, a small bookselling business conducted from their dormitory room.
