Its Viridas Brasil Agronegocios subsidiary is developing a trial plantation for producing the oil in Belo Horizonte, before implementing an industrial-scale plantation in Brazil's northeastern region.

Virotec International develops and manufactures chemicals to minimize the negative impact of industrial activity on the environment. The company offers products based on its Bauxsol technology that treat, neutralize, convert, or recycle sewage (ViroSewage), wastewater (ViroFlow), acidic soil (ViroSoil), and contaminated mine waste (ViroMine). The company operates several subsidiaries in the UK, US, Australia, and Italy. Sales in Australia, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East accounts for a majority of the company's revenue. In 2008, UK-based environmental services provider Hydrodec acquired Virotec.
