Massachusetts General Hospital
Massachusetts General Hospital established in the 1800s, has some 900 beds and is a teaching affiliate of Harvard's medical school with a budget of more than $500 million for R&D. Its specialized departments for health include cancer, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, and diabetes. The hospital is also a leading research facility, hosting numerous clinical trials. In addition to its main campus in Boston, the hospital operates several health centers in surrounding communities. Massachusetts General Hospital is a founding member of the Partners HealthCare System (along with Brigham and Women's).
