Long Beach Memorial Medical Center (LBMMC) is an old-timer in the Long Beach health care market. A subsidiary of Memorial Health Services, LBMMC provides a full range of health services to residents of the Long Beach, California, area. The medical center, a more than 460-bed acute-care hospital, was founded in 1907 and is one of the largest private hospitals on the West coast. With more than 650 beds combined, the two medical centers specialize in acute care, cancer, cardiology, diabetes, organ transplantation, and maternity services. The health system also encompasses the Lourdes Wellness Center in Collingswood, which focuses on integrative and holistic medicine. Lourdes Health System is sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Alleghany, NY and is a member of Catholic Health East.
