Mercator MedSystems, Inc.
Most syringes are designed to inject medication into blood vessels, but Mercator MedSystems' (formerly EndoBionics) MicroSyringe is designed to go inside blood vessels and inject medication outside the vessel wall, allowing for a more targeted application of medication that reduces the amount dispersed to areas where it is not needed. In addition to delivering traditional injectable drugs, it can deliver stem cells and gene therapies. The MicroSyringe, which was approved for use by the FDA in 2004, can be used to treat tumors and vascular, cardiac, and neurological diseases.
