Clinch Valley Medical Center oversees southwestern Virginia's acute medical needs. The regional hospital provides medical and emergency care services in about a dozen counties around Richlands, Virginia. Formed in 1938, Clinch Valley Medical Center offers cancer care, cardiac catheterization, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, women's services, pediatrics, physical rehabilitation services, sleep studies, and surgical services. The not-for-profit hospital, which has about 300 acute-care beds, is a general medical and surgical facility. It offers emergency and intensive care services, as well as inpatient orthopedic, psychiatric, and women's health services. Additionally, Community General Hospital houses a skilled nursing center and performs outpatient diagnostic testing, physical therapy, and cardiac rehabilitation.
