Children's Hospital & Research Center at Oakland
Children's Hospital Oakland, which was founded in 1914, also conducts teaching and community outreach programs. Children's Hospital & Research Center at Oakland provides medical care for children and performs research to improve the treatment of children's diseases. The freestanding pediatric hospital has about 190 beds and a staff of some 200 physicians with 30 medical specialties. Its services include orthopedics, neurology, oncology, and cardiology, as well as surgery, trauma, neonatal, and intensive care. Additionally, the hospital operates several satellite outpatient clinics providing general and specialized care.
