Children's Health System

Children's Health System is an integrated health network that operates Birmingham's Children's Hospital and a group of medical offices, clinics, and outpatient facilities located primarily in the Greater Birmingham area. Not-for-profit Children's Hospital is licensed for about 275 beds and provides treatment for pediatric cancers, blood disorders, sickle cell disease, and many other childhood illnesses. It serves as a Level 1 trauma center and houses a regional burn center, a poison control center, and a pediatric dialysis facility. Founded in 1911, Children's Hospital is also a teaching hospital for the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
