Landmark Graphics Corporation
LGC develops software that high-tech wildcatters use to find oil, drill for it, and analyze economic return. Databases built with Landmark software store information used by seismic analysis programs to simulate reservoirs and other geological structures. Well planning and drilling applications calculate how to get the oil, while reservoir management software tracks the amount left. Throughout the process, Landmark's production and economic applications manage risk and measure returns. Founded in 1982, Landmark was acquired in 1996 by Halliburton.
