NextIO, Inc.
NextIO, Inc. has raised about $55 million in private equity funding. NextIO started out as a company designing semiconductors for large computer servers and made the transition to a systems developer, creating the Adaptive Connect platform for I/O virtualization. It provides hardware making use of the PCI Express industry standard to speed up data communications, and software to configure and monitor Adaptive Connect. The company's executives previously worked at AMD, Broadcom, Compaq Computer, and NetEffect. NextIO was founded in 2003. Adams Capital Management, Crescendo Ventures, Dell, and VentureTech Alliance (the venture capital arm of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing) have invested in NextIO.
