Carnival Film & Television Limited is a producer of dramatic television shows, feature films, and plays, both in the UK and in the US. Founded in 1978 by Brian Eastman, the company counts such titles as Agatha Christie's Poirot, Hotel Babylon, Jeeves and Wooster, and "Traffik" (the miniseries upon which the feature film "Traffic" was based) among its television credits. Carnival's feature film Shadowlands (Anthony Hopkins, Debra Winger) was nominated for two Academy Awards. The company's West End theatre productions often provide fodder for its film and TV work. NBC Universal purchased Carnival in 2008 for an estimated $55.5 million.
