USA TODAY is the #2 daily newspaper in the US (behind News Corporation's Wall Street Journal), with a circulation of 1.8 million. The paper, first published in 1982, is available throughout the country and through international editions; it also publishes news on its popular website. In addition to its daily edition, USA TODAY produces a weekend supplement (USA WEEKEND) and a sports publication (USA TODAY Sports Weekly). More than 60% of its paid circulation comes from newsstands, vending machines, and hotels. USA TODAY is owned by Gannett, the largest newspaper publisher in the US.
