Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalism The Blade’s 2004 investigation, "Buried Secrets, Brutal Truths," earned a Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting. The series focused on an elite U.S. Army unit, Tiger Force, that left a trail of atrocities during the Vietnam War, and concealed from the public for three decades.

Boston Herald Inc. publishes the Boston Herald newspaper, which competes for readers with The Boston Globe (owned by The New York Times Company). The paper, which boasts a weekday circulation of more than 160,000, also publishes news online. The Boston Herald traces its roots back to 1846 when the city saw the first copy of The Herald published. After numerous incarnations, Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation bought The Herald American in 1982, changing its name back to the Boston Herald.
