Noritake Co., Limited

Noritake began dishing out china for export not long after the time of Commodore Perry's efforts to establish trade with Japan in the 1850s. Today the company's Tabletop Group trades in dinnerware made of china, porcelain, stoneware, and earthenware; it also makes crystal stemware, glassware, and cutlery. Modern-day Noritake's largest unit is its Industrial Products Group, which makes grinding wheels and coated abrasives. Noritake company's Ceramics & Materials, Electronics, and Environmental Engineering segments make such products as catalyst carriers, dental porcelain and metals, vacuum fluorescent displays, ceramic sewer pipes, and kilns. Noritake has factories around the globe. Over 80% of sales are from Japan.
