Hockey Western New York, LLC
Hockey Western New York owns and operates the Buffalo Sabres professional hockey franchise, which joined the National Hockey League in 1970 along with the Vancouver Canucks. Buffalo has made two trips to the Stanley Cup finals (its last, a loss to the Dallas Stars, in 1999) but has yet to win a championship title. The team plays host at Buffalo's HSBC Arena. The franchise was first awarded to Seymour Knox III his brother, Northrup Knox. B. Thomas Golisano, founder and chairman of payroll firm Paychex, has owned the Sabres since 2003.
