A pioneering European discount airline, Ryanair Holdings offers low-fare, no-frills air transportation via its main subsidiary, Ryanair. The carrier flies to about 65 cities in about 35 countries, primarily in the Asia/Pacific region but also in Europe and North America. It boasts a fleet of about 100 aircraft. SIA extends its network via code-sharing with fellow members of the Star Alliance marketing partnership, such as Lufthansa. (Code-sharing allows airlines to sell tickets on one another's flights and thus offer service to additional destinations.) The government of Singapore, through Temasek Holdings, owns 55% of SIA.

Skywest Limited emerged out of the ashes of Ansett Australia. Serving more than 15 destinations in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, and Bali, Skywest operates a fleet of Fokker 50 turboprops and Fokker 100 jets. Skywest also provides charter services for the government, mining companies, and others to remote areas in Western Australia. The company's Skywest Holidays division offers packaged vacation excursions. For those wanting to get farther out than Down Under, Skywest operates interline agreements with Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Emirates, and others. Advent Air owns about 62% of Skywest.
