The airline also provides cargo services and integrates flight, boat and ground transfers for passengers traveling to and from Kinmen and Amoy in mainland China. Founded in 1991, the company merged with Formosa Airlines in 1999; it is a subsidiary of China Airlines. The golden eagle Hai Tung Ching, which according to an old Chinese legend has a small but agile body, is the company's logo.

Midwest Air Group aims to run a champagne airline in beer country. From hubs in Milwaukee and Kansas City, the company's Midwest Airlines serves major US business centers and leisure destinations. It operates a fleet of about 10 Boeing 717s and promotes such perks as wide leather seats and fresh-baked, chocolate chip cookies. With regional affiliate Midwest Connect, Midwest Airlines serves about 30 destinations, largely in the upper Midwest. Midwest also hauls cargo, offers charter flights, and provides ground-based airport services. Founded in 1984, Midwest was acquired by Republic Airways Holdings in July 2009.

Minnesota weather can be gloomy, so MN Airlines aims to be a ray of sunshine. The carrier, which does business as Sun Country Airlines, provides flights to about 30 popular tourist destinations in North America and the Caribbean from its hub in Minneapolis/St. Paul. US cities served by the carrier include Las Vegas; Los Angeles; New York; Orlando, Florida; Phoenix and San Francisco. Sun Country also offers flights to selected destinations in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. The carrier operates a fleet of about a dozen Boeing 737-800s. Diversified consumer products company Petters Group Worldwide owns Sun Country, which is operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
