Ceske Aerolinie AS
Ceske Aerolinie (known as Czech Airlines or CSA) is the national carrier of the Czech Republic. Since joining the European Union in 2004, the airline has greatly expanded. It flies to about 70 cities in 40 countries in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, North America, and Asia. It operates a fleet of about 50 Airbus and Boeing jets and is a member of the SkyTeam alliance which also includes Air France-KLM, Aeroflot, and, Delta Air Lines. Founded as Czechoslovak State Airlines in 1923, the Czech Ministry of Finance owns 57% of the airline; other Czech agencies own the rest. However, the government plans to sell the airline in 2009. A group of Czech and Icelandic investors has made a bid to purchase CSA.
