The Company was founded in 1951 by Ann Benedict in order to supply Girl Scouts lightweight nutritious meals for their outdoor backpacking experiences. The company was purchased in 1971 by the Smith Family and moved from South Central Los Angeles to Redding California. In 1992 the company purchased land and built our current facility in Boulder. In addition, we go the extra distance to ensure your safety by subjecting all of our meat products to a daily inspection process performed by a USDA inspector.
