Suomi Mutual Life Assurance Company
Established in 1890, Suomi Mutual Life Assurance Company is the second oldest life insurance company in Finland. Suomi Mutual administers its customers' life insurance portfolio and related investments for the benefit of policyholders. Suomi Mutual has 300 000 owner customers. Suomi Mutual's insurance portfolio consists of insurance policies taken out before July 1, 1997. The portfolio also includes certain newer policies, such as group pension insurance, and capital redemption contracts for companies and corporations.
Part of insurance portfolio transferred to Pohjola. At the beginning of 2005, an over EUR 1 billion insurance portfolio and around 135 000 insurance customers were transferred to Pohjola. Now Pohjola is part of the OP-Pohjola Group, the largest financial services group in Finland. The OP-Pohjola Group is Suomi Mutual's main cooperation partner.
