Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States
The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) got it done over there. The membership organization is an advocacy group for former members of any branch of the US military who have served honorably in conflicts. Services provided by the group include helping veterans secure benefits and entitlements and advocating legislation in support of veterans and their needs. The VFW also provides flag education, citizenship classes, and other mentoring services to young people. The organization, which was chartered by Congress in 1936, serves as a visible reminder of the contributions of all veterans by marching in parades and holding public services on national holidays.
