Society of Manufacturing Engineers

The Society of Manufacturing Engineers has members in more than 70 countries. The association provides manufacturing engineers and executives with ongoing information on new and improved technologies and professional development resources. The Society of Manufacturing Engineers also organizes expositions and other industry-related events and publishes the monthly magazine Manufacturing Engineering. The organization was formed with 33 members in 1932 as The Society of Tool Engineers. The society adopted its current moniker in 1969.
Through its many programs and activities, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) connects manufacturing practitioners to each other, to the latest technology and the most up-to-date processes spanning all manufacturing industries and disciplines, plus the key areas of aerospace and defense, medical device, motor vehicles, including motorsports, oil and gas, and alternative energy.
