Port of Los Angeles

The Port of Los Angeles, one of the busiest US trade gateways, encompasses about 7,500 acres and includes about 45 miles of waterfront property at San Pedro Bay. Operating as a landlord port, it leases property to tenants that manage terminals and other port facilities. The Port of Los Angeles consists of more than 25 major cargo terminals, which include liquid bulk, container, automobile, breakbulk (cargo not in a container), and dry bulk terminals, as well as facilities used by cruise lines. Containers account for most of the port's traffic. A department of the City of Los Angeles, the Port of Los Angeles was established in 1907.
