United Way Worldwide
United Way Worldwide unites some 1,800 United Way organizations that extend to about 45 countries and territories. The group works to raise money for charitable causes. In 2009 United Way Worldwide merged its United Way of America network of almost 1,300 organizations with its United Way International group. While United Way Worldwide specific priorities are set by local entities, United Way Worldwide tends to focus on helping children achieve their potential, promoting financial stability, and improving access to health care. Major recipients of it contributions have included American Cancer Society, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Catholic Charities, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and The Salvation Army, among others.
