Leonard Cheshire Disability exists to change attitudes to disability and to serve disabled people around the world. Leonard Cheshire Disability principal activity in the UK is the provision of services in support of disabled people in the widest context. These services include care homes, supported living, domiciliary support, day services, resource centres, rehabilitation, respite care, personal support and training and assistance for those looking for work. Leonard Cheshire Disability is a non-profit organization that offers support services to disabled people in more than 50 countries, as well as directly supporting upwards of 21,000 disabled people in the UK. Services include independent living and residential care, skills training and rehabilitation, recreational services, and day care. Leonard Cheshire Disability also campaigns for rights on behalf of disabled people. Founded in 1948, Leonard Cheshire provides some 400 programs through partnerships with about 255 independent organizations around the globe.
