Conservation International
Conservation International is dedicated to protecting the environment and its inhabitants. The not-for-profit works in more than 40 countries on four continents. Conservation International staff focuses on biodiversity hotspots, wilderness areas with high-biodiversity, and certain marine areas. CI's Center for Biodiversity Science collects data, develops conservation plans, and creates partnerships to reach its targets. Programs include working with farming cooperatives to increase efficiency, promote ecotourism, track sea turtles, and restore threatened forests. Because the group believes human welfare is important to conservation, Conservation International also supports health and family planning clinics in developing nations. CI was founded in 1987.
