French vehicle manufacturer Renault joined hands with Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M) in 2005, to launch a mid-size sedan in India - by the name of Logan. The launch of this car was a part of Renault's strategy to establish its name in the highly competitive automobile business of India. The variants of Mahindra Renault Logan are powered by three different engines - 1.4L petrol engine, 1.6L petrol engine and 1.5L diesel engine. 1.4 liter and 1.6 liter petrol engines generate a power of 75 bhp and 84.5 bhp respectively, @ 5500 rpm. The 1.4 liter engine produces 110 Nm of torque @ 3000 rpm and the 1.6 liter engine delivers 128 Nm of torque at the same rpm. On the other hand, the 1.5-liter common rail diesel engine churns out a power of 65 bhp @ 4000 rpm and 160 Nm of torque @ 2000 rpm.
