Lacadives
Lacadives is a Scuba diving company with two diving centres in the Lakshadweep islands. Founded in 1995 by Prahlad Kakar, one of India's leading ad-film makers, Lacadives was all about the passion for the sea and the new-found joy of diving underwater that both Prahlad and his wife Mitali had discovered for themselves at Mauritius around that time.At the same time the administration of Lakshadweep a little known set of 36 coral islands some 500 kilometers off the coast of Kerala was looking at opening up a few islands for tourism and adventure lovers by offering water sports and related activities.Lacadives eventually opened its first Dive centre and school on the pristine island of Kadmat and has since then trained over 700 Indians to dive. Affiliated to CMAS (World Underwater Federation) an international Federation of over 100 countries in 5 continents, Lacadives is India's only CMAS overseas dive centre. Lacadives also took over the dive centre at the esteemed Bangaram Island resort.
