Vijay Sai Deverakonda was born on May 09, 1989, to Govardhan Deverakonda and Madhavi Deverakonda in Achampeta, Nagarkurnool District Telangana state.

He has a younger brother, Anand Deverakonda.

At the age of 6, Vijay joined a boarding school, Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School and completed his 10th Std then returned back to Hyderabad to pursue his high school from Little Flowers Junior College after which he moved to Badhruka College and completed his B.Com (Hons).

Vijay started to pursue acting from his college days when he associated himself with theatre groups such as Sutradhar and Ingenium Dramatics.

Vijay Sai Devarakonda is one of the most talented and dynamic actors of the Telugu film industry. With acting in his blood, his father Devarakonda Govardhan Rao being an actor, it was natural for Vijay to pursue acting.

His mother Madhavi Deverakonda is the Proprietor of Speak Easy in Hyderabad, a soft skills and personality development trainer.

He started his career with theatre and short films and debuted in Tollywood with Shekar Kammula’s Life is Beautiful. However, he got a breakthrough from Yevade Subramanyam.

His first film as main lead Pellichoopulu directed by Tharun Bhascker strengthened his calibre as one of the most promising young talents in the Telugu Film Industry.

Vijay Devarakonda ventured into the business world by starting a clothing brand called Rowdy Club.

Vijay Devarakonda's performance in the movie Arjun Reddy was received very well by the audience, critics, and the jury members as well.

He won the Best Actor 2017 award at the Zee Golden Film Awards. He also won the prestigious Filmfare Award For Best Actor - Telugu at Jio Filmfare Awards 2018.
