Rupee rises 7 paise vs dollar to end at over 2-week high of 60.06

MUMBAI: In line with the recovery in local equities, the Indian rupee today washed out early losses and closed up by seven paise at over two-week high of 60.06 against the greenback.
Fresh dollar selling by exporters too aided the rupee rise while a firm dollar overseas capped the rupee rise.
FIIs had injected Rs 75.04 crore on Monday. The dollar index was up by 0.11 per cent ahead of data expected to show growth in the US economy, and the outcome of the Federal Reserve's two-day policy meeting which concludes later today.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her nephew and TMC's national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee will hold a virtual meeting with all counting agents of the party on Saturday afternoon, two days ahead of the counting of votes polled in the assembly elections, a senior party leader said.
The meeting, scheduled for 4 pm, will be attended by the counting agents from the 291 Assembly constituencies, where the ruling party fielded its candidates.
