Mahindra launches electric version of Supro for Rs 8.45 lakh

NEW DELHI: Homegrown auto major Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) today launched the electric version of commercial vehicle Supro priced at 8.45 lakh (van) and Rs 8.75 lakh (passenger) in Delhi.

The prices take into account state subsidies and the incentives under the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) India scheme.

The launch takes the number of product offerings in Mahindra's electric vehicle portfolio to four. The electric versions of the passenger and cargo variants of the Supro join existing models e2o and e-Verito.

The vehicles have a range of 112m and 115 km on a single charge. Pravin Shah, chief executive (automotive division) said, "We believe in the future of mobility. Retail markets are getting reorganised with the advent of the digital media. We feel these are the right products to go into every nook and corner."

The products are being introduced in India. There are no plans to export them immediately.
