Maruti Suzuki Baleno records 30% growth in July sales
Maruti Suzuki India launched its hatchback Baleno last year and since then the car has performed very well among the masses. In the month of July, 2016, the company recorded a growth of 30.9% in its sales for the Baleno. Within the first few months of its launch, the company has recorded 21,000 bookings of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, while in 9 months, the sales reached 75,000 units sales mark in the country.
In the hatchback segment, Hyundai i20 stood at 9,910 units , while Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Honda Jazz registered 9,120 units and 3,517 units of sales in the same month. According to the sales data of last month Maruti has recorded 12.7% growth in its sales volume by selling a total of 137,116 units against 121,712 units July 2015. It should also be noted that Baleno sales have been growing despite a big backlog of orders. The company is increasing it production of the Baleno from the initial 8,000 to 12,000 units and if the momentum continues, Baleno could claim the leadership spot and fortify it further. In order to cater to the demand, the company will start the production of the Baleno at the upcoming Gujarat plant in the first quarter of 2017.
Maruti Suzuki has also decided to launch its much awaited Ignis by the end of this year, while the Baleno RS is expected to be launched next year. Along with this, the company recently increased the prices of Vitara Brezza and Baleno. The Vitara Brezza is now priced between Rs 7.19 lakh-Rs.9.88 lakh ( Ex-showroom Delhi), while Maruti Baleno is starts from Rs 5.25 lakh-Rs 8.36 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi).
