L&T Construction secures major contracts for EPC developments in India

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Construction's buildings & factories business has recently been awarded engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts, the company said in a BSE filing.
The company has secured an order from a developer to construct residential towers in Thane, Mumbai.
The project encompasses the construction of core and shell works for five towers, spanning ground, five podiums, 54 floors, and associated parking areas, all to be completed within strict timelines.
Additionally, B&F Fast, a vertical of the company, has obtained a contract to build commercial office space in Bengaluru, covering an approximate built-up area of 1.6 million sq. ft.
The scope of work involves civil works for the composite structure, warm shell finishes, and the construction of 3B+G+15 floors. The project is scheduled to be accomplished within 18 months.
This comes after the company secured a repeat order from the Drinking Water & Sanitation Department, Government of Jharkhand to execute a Raw Water Transport System in March, a turnkey EPC order to establish a 112.5 MW Solar Power Plant in south-western part of West Bengal in January and order from an automobile company to construct a manufacturing facility in Haryana in October 2022.

An Air India flight operating from Mumbai to New York was diverted to Delhi on Monday, following a security concern arising out of a bomb threat. According to the sources, Mumbai airport received a message on X (formerly Twitter) regarding a bomb threat in a flight bound for New York. The message was conveyed to security agencies in Delhi and the call was taken to divert the aircraft to Delhi.

State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is looking to set up mini-LNG plants to evacuate natural gas from wells located in areas that are not connected with pipelines.
The firm has identified five sites in Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand and Gujarat for setting up mini plants at wellhead that will convert the gas pumped out from under the ground into liquefied natural gas (LNG) by supercooling it to minus 160 degrees celsius.

Reports emerged last week that Saregama is eyeing a majority stake in Dharma Productions. Now Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) is reportedly in discussions to acquire a stake in Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, reported The Economic Times.
If finalised, the deal would strengthen the oil-to-telecom giant's foothold in India's content production sector. However, the exact size of the stake under negotiation remains unclear.

As the tensions escalate in West Asia further, at least 41 people were killed, including at least 13 children in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza on Sunday, CNN reported citing the hospitals.
According to officials from the Al Awda and Al Aqsa hospitals, at least 22 people lost their lives in Israeli strikes at Al Mufti school in Gaza's Nuseirat refugee camp.
