India Post track-n-trace scheme for Asia Pacific shipments
India Post, the most widely distributed postal network in the world, has launched International Tracked Packet specially designed to cater to the needs of e-commerce for cross-border transactions.
The service, launched on the occasion of World Post Day at a function held in New Delhi by Minister of State for Communications and Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha, can also be availed by individuals who can get benefits like economical service for shipments to Asia Pacific region.
It also comes with features like track and trace, volume discounts, pick-up facility and compensation for loss or damage.
“The service will help in boosting Make-in-India campaign by facilitating an economic solution for international shipments. With this, the Department of Posts is set to start a new chapter of close collaboration between the post office and the business in India that want to reach to their customers abroad,” India Post said in a release.
The postal department has also come out with e-postal orders in denominations of Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 50 and Rs 100 as a pilot project in Bihar, Delhi and Karnataka.
These e-India postal orders could be used for payments to educational institutions, court, online registration for cable Operators and for Right to Information as well.
The customers can purchase e-IPOs online through debit or credit cards or with net banking from the websites of the postal department or India Post.
