Walmart-owned Flipkart has partnered with Mahindra Logistics to accelerate use of electric vehicles in last mile delivery and will deploy over 25,000 EVs in the fleet by 2030, according to a regulatory filing.

The Mahindra Group's logistics arm has already launched an electric last mile delivery service - EDEL - in six cities and has partnered with companies in consumer and e-commerce space to provide such services.

In a significant development, President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday (April 6) appointed Justice NV Ramana as the next Chief Justice of India, with effect from April 24, 2021.

Justice Ramana is scheduled to retire on August 26, 2022. It may be recalled that in March incumbent Chief Justice of India Justice SA Bobde had recommended Justice Ramana as his successor. CJI Bobde is due to retire on April 23.

Kolkata: After Assam, another case has been revealed in West Bengal regarding the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). Just a day before the Assembly polls in the state, EVMs were found outside the TMC Leader's house on Uluberia North Assembly seat in Howrah district late Monday night. When the local people informed the police, the election officials swung into action.

Several sealed EVMs were found kept outside the house of TMC leader Gautam Ghosh.

Polling in the Assembly Elections for four states and one union territory began on Tuesday amid tight security and COVID-19 guidelines. Gautam Adani-led Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) today announced acquisition of the residual 25 per cent stake in Adani Krishnapatnam Port Ltd, (Krishnapatnam Port) for Rs 2,800 cr.

This will result in APSEZ increasing its stake from 75 per cent to 100 per cent in Krishnapatnam Port, the company informed in a release.

State Bank of India's (SBI) home loan rates will start from 6.95 per cent from April 1, according to the lender's website.

SBI had a special offer in March that offered home loans started from 6.7 per cent. The state-owned bank has a home loan portfolio of Rs. 5,00,000 crore, making it the market leader.
