The global coronavirus caseload has topped 250 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 5.04 million and vaccinations soared to over 7.24 billion, according to the Johns Hopkins University.

In its latest update on Sunday morning, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the current global caseload, death toll and the total number number of vaccine doses administered stood at 250,610,452, 5,048,865 and 7,246,604,164, respectively.

Shares of IndusInd Bank slumped 10 per cent to Rs 1,069.90 on the BSE in Monday's opening trade despite the bank management strongly refuting allegations around the evergreening of loans, citing media reports as inaccurate and baseless.

The Income Tax Department has frozen deposits worth over Rs 53 crore of an urban credit cooperative bank in Maharashtra after it found "glaring irregularities" in the opening of accounts in a recent raid, the CBDT said on Saturday.

The department raided the headquarters of the bank and the residence of its chairman and a director on October 27, it said.

Mainland China reported 55 new Covid-19 cases on Nov. 6, down from 78 a day earlier, the country's national health authority said on Saturday.

The National Health Commission said in its daily bulletin that 40 of the new cases were locally transmitted, down from 68 the previous day, with 16 in the northeast border province of Heilongjiang.
