Gold (24 carat) is selling at Rs 46,040 per ten gram on Wednesday in India, down Rs 240 from the previous trade.

Silver is selling at Rs 60,100 per kg, up Rs 150 from yesterday's trading price, according to Good Returns website.

The price of gold jewellery varies across India, the second-largest consumer of the metal, due to excise duty, state taxes, and making charges.

Pfizer has submitted research to the U.S Food and Drug Administration on the effectiveness of its COVID-19 vaccine in children but the shots may not be available until November.

Aditya Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company (AMC) on Tuesday allotted shares worth Rs 789 crores to anchor investors. It appears the Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech's indigenously manufactured Covaxin will take a little more time to get an emergency use authorisation (EUA) from the United Nations' international public health body.
