Shares of TV18 Broadcast hit an over 10-year high of Rs 77 on rallying 11 per cent on the BSE in Thursday’s intra-day trade on the back of heavy volumes. The stock of the Reliance Group company was trading at its highest level since July 2011.

In the past one month, the stock has zoomed 65 per cent after the company reported a strong operating performance for October-December 2021 quarter (Q3FY22). In comparison, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 2.3 per cent during the period.

Shares of Adani Wilmar were locked at upper circuit for the second straight day, up 20 per cent at Rs 386.25 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday, thus also hitting a new high since its market debut on Tuesday.

With today’s rally, the stock of Adani Group edible oil major has surged 68 per cent over its issue price of Rs 230 per share, and is above 70 per cent from its listing price of Rs 227 on the NSE. The stock has zoomed 75 per cent from its debut price of Rs 221 on the BSE.

Shares of Solara Active Pharma Sciences were locked at 20 per cent lower circuit limit at Rs 775.05, also its 52-week low, on the BSE on Thursday after the company reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 140 crore in December quarter (Q3FY22), due to lower revenue. The pharmaceutical company had posted a profit of Rs 65.78 crore in the year-ago quarter (Q3FY21).

The stock has corrected 58 per cent from its 52-week high level of Rs 1,859.30 touched on May 19, 2021.

With the beginning of the first phase of polling for Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Thursday said that it is time to make a decision whether people want a "sorrowful" state or protect their interests in the coming five years in the state.

The BSP leader also extended a warm welcome to all the voters for phase 1 voting which includes 58 assembly constituencies of 11 districts in western Uttar Pradesh.

Voting for the first phase of Uttar Pradesh elections on 58 assembly seats covering 11 districts of the state will begin on Thursday at 7 am.

The voting will conclude at 6 pm today.

The first phase will cover the 'Jat-dominant belt' of the western part of the state.

India logged 67,084 new coronavirus infections, taking the country's total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,24,78,060, while the active cases declined to 7,90,789, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.

The death toll climbed to 5,06,520 with 1,241 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.

Media firm New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) on Wednesday reported a 31.64 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 29.87 crore for the third quarter ended December 2021.

The latest fundraise values the firm at $1.2 billion. The funding round was led by private equity funds Blackstone Growth, TPG Growth and ChrysCapital, and includes a primary capital infusion of $100 million and a secondary share sale worth $200 million.
